A bridge between economic strength, sustainable impact, and social responsibility
With its first combined Annual and Sustainability Report for 2025, Evangelische Bank highlights what sets its business model apart: economic stability, sustainable impact, and social responsibility. Under the guiding theme »Building Bridges — Cohesion in Times of Change,« the report links the realities of the health and social sectors with financial and sustainability perspectives, thereby sharpening the bank’s profile as a values-driven partner to its clients. This marks the third consecutive year that wirDesign has had the privilege of supporting Evangelische Bank’s annual report, and we have now consistently evolved it toward a combined reporting format.
Editorially sophisticated, sustainably relevant
The report focuses on key challenges such as the shortage of skilled workers and sustainable financing, linking them to potential impacts. The report’s structure is designed to move beyond separate reporting frameworks and bring together economic, environmental, and social dimensions. Sustainability aspects are presented alongside the main articles as supporting and contextual evidence, as part of the bank’s value creation logic. This provides decision-makers in the church, social welfare organizations, and the health and social services sectors with quick, audience-tailored access to relevant information.
Corporate Communications and Sustainability Management in Harmony
The combined report is the result of an interdisciplinary process in which Evangelische Bank’s Corporate Communications and Sustainability Management teams worked closely with wirDesign on conceptual, editorial, design, and technical aspects. Instead of separate silos, a unified structure was created that consistently communicates financial and sustainability performance while also strengthening internal collaboration. The online report provides a robust foundation for integrating future requirements and management frameworks even more closely, thereby further developing reporting as a forward-looking model for integrated brand and corporate communications.
»For us, it was crucial to reflect the reality of our business model: economic success and social responsibility go hand in hand — and that is exactly how our report should be read.«
Carolin Caliebe
Head of Corporate Communications, Evangelische Bank
»Integrated reporting is much more than simply combining two reports under one umbrella. It requires considering economic efficiency, impact, and accountability together and reveals whether integrated action is part of the business model. At Evangelische Bank, this is unmistakably the case.«
